Dell looks to future tablets as consumer sales slump

Dell is pinning its hopes on new touchscreen products pegged to Windows 8's launch to boost the fortunes of its consumer products division.

Sales of the US firm's notebook computers and other mobile devices were down by 10% over the three months to 4 May, compared with the same period the previous year.

It blamed competition from cheap entry-level products in emerging markets, a category it does not participate in.

Its shares fell 13% in extended trade.

Net income for the first quarter was $635m (£404m), a fall of 33%.

Revenue dropped 4% to $14.4bn, with its consumer unit reporting a steeper 12% decline.

The company predicted only a small increase in sales over the current period.

Although it expected to benefit from falling hard disk prices as suppliers recovered from last year's Thai floods, it warned that the savings would be offset by higher memory and display costs.

Touchscreens 

However, the firm's founder and chief executive, Michael Dell, told analysts he expected a pick-up in demand when Microsoft released its new system software later in the year.

The upgrade features a new Metro user interface - designed for touch gesture controls - which Mr Dell said should prompt users to change their computer.

"Unlike other Windows transitions, this is a transition where you generally are going to need a new PC, whether it's a tablet or ultrabook with touch or a notebook with touch or a PC with touch or some derivative hybrid on all the above type of products," Mr Dell was quoted as saying in a conference call transcript provided by financial news site Seeking Alpha.

"The product refresh cycle associated with this release of Windows is likely to be very different from other releases, but it's hard to know exactly what that looks like. We're preparing a full complement of products, and we'll be ready with those."

Mr Dell added that the new touchscreen products would cost more to produce than their non-touch equivalents, suggesting they should fall within the price bracket Dell targets, rather than the super-low end of the market that it had opted out of.

However, he added that it would take longer for the new system to drive business sales.

"Corporations are still adopting Windows 7, so we don't think there'll be a massive adoption of Windows 8 by corporations early on," he said.

Competition 

Dell has already tried to crack the mobile tablet market with its Latitude and Inspiron tablets that run on existing versions of Windows and its Streak tablets that run on Google's Android.

However, the market has been dominated by Apple's iPad and Amazon's Kindle Fire.

"We see Windows 8 as opportunity for all the PC manufacturers to reclaim the huge ground that they have lost to Apple and some of the other Android tablet makers," Chris Green, technology analyst at Davies Murphy Group Europe, told the BBC.

"You can't underestimate how much the sector has hit PC sales. The challenge for Dell is that it will be competing against Acer, Lenovo and others - but the sheer size of the company should act as an advantage."

Facebook present friends in a list, so to group friends we must make new friend lists . But because of the +circle service in Google + we can make category circles and can drag the names or pictures of friends , who in our account and who are going to be our friends in the future, So by that we can categorize friends to find them easily.

In the Spark section I entered one of my interests--punk rock--and the Google search algorithm brought back a bunch of mainstream media articles, YouTube and Vimeo video, and blog posts. Spams send unwanted links to your E-mail. Hacking and prevent from hacking

Hacking is the most dangerous thing on internet. When you providing your information to a untrusted or unknown site some times it can be a Hacker’s site. If it is a hacking site they install a small application software to your computer. Then hackers can see what you doing from your computer from their computer. Then they can catch all of your usernames, passwords of your online accounts such as E-mail, Paypal, Facebook, Twitter etc. See, How dangerous is this? Last year there was a hacking site known as www.tvvitter.com not www.twitter.com. When users search for twitter the first result is the site I mentioned first. It is full clone of original twitter. Then users go and enter there Username and password. Then the hackers copy down them and said users that Username or password is incorrect. Then then user click on Retry button the hacking site automatically redirecting to the original twitter. Then from the Username and Password hackers copied down, they hack the twitter account of user. To prevent from these hackers,

1. Double check that it is the correct site you want when you visit a site.

2. Do not provide your Username or E-mail to sites when you want to download a file or not go to pay any amount to these download a file except the Original author’s site.

3. Don’t subscribe your E-mail to any unknown site.

4. Install a good Internet Security if you using internet a lot.

(according to my opinion the Kaspersky is the best Internet Security for prevent from hackers because it is made by a person who trained to be a hacker.) Prevent from Viruses

In most instances these viruses came attached to .doc, .pdf, .xls etc files or with .zip, .rar files. To prevent from these viruses install a good antivirus and update it at least weekly (If you using a Internet Security you don’t need to use another antivirus)

Windows to Ubuntu or From Window to Humanism

     With the time , the law against fake software makers is getting strict. Actually there must be laws in that field also. Because stealing anything which is available to pay and buy , is also a thievery. I also used a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 which I brought from a place like that for 100 Rs , but it is not safe. Because Key loggers, Mal wares or Spywares can be come to it at anytime as it haven’t any connection with the company. As an example , it can’t get any updates. So when considering about the things I do , if any key logger comes ,all will be finished. Because I don’t like any Virus guards ( because when I install a virus guard ,it obstruct my work and also I don’t have any viruses , malwares or any other) So my websites ,social networking account and E-mail account will be ruined .It’s like cutting my hands and legs. So to be happy without facing to a thing like that So I thought to change in to Ubuntu. But not at once , step by step ,because we cant fly without walking

I wrote this post , because sometimes the steps I follow will be useful to my blog readers also .So first I install Ubuntu 11.04 ,which I had.( Ubuntu 11.10 will be coming near future). I did this keeping my Windows XP, because I cant be a bigwig with the new interface .After that I did the basic work like listening to music, watching films , connecting to the internet with the Ubuntu. It’s not much different. So I did the work, what I have to do by Microsoft office from Libre office. But it’s little bit difficult to become familiar with it. Yet I can’t do work faster from it comparatively to the Microsoft office. And the next problem is , I was unable to find a Photo editing software like Photoshop. I f some one knows please tell me. For the media player I put VLC as same. Then the next problem is , the games which I played in Windows cannot be played in Ubuntu . For that I didn’t get any solution. But I got a news that there is a software called Wine , which can work .exe files in Ubuntu. But I didn’t test it yet . when it get right, I’m saying GOOD BYE to windows , “for the help you gave me up to now

      Android is a mobile phone operating system which is getting popular fast these days .Because it has a very attractive interface as well as android have lots of applications than the other . so most of the people are interested in android phones.
      I thought of talking about Android cause many people talk about android these days and also they are interested in it very much.In each second 13 android smart phones are sold in the world and also more than five hundred and fifty thousand phones are added to the world each day. So according to that now there are 200 millions of android devices in the world .

                                               
   Android works only in smart phones , except that it works in tablets,E readers, notebooks and also in televisions. Why is that android this much of popular , cause it is a complete mobile operating system.

    Americans started making this program 11 years before , that means in 2001 by Andy Rubin, Rich minor,Cris white and Nick chaser.they needed to to make an OS to fulfill all the needs of the users, So to complete this , they established Android inc-operation in 2003 , but it became a failure due to loss of income .In 2005 Google company buy the android company including Rubi and the other labors , and they named it as "goggle android " with the guidance of Andy Rubin , Google labors and android labors completed this project in 2007 . Android is a Linux based one and it has the qualities of the programming languages such as XML,C ,JAVA and C++. With all these things we can say that android is an Open source software.
    After finishing the basic edition, they establish the Open Handset Alliance   in November 2007 with the leadership of the Google company. It was done with the participation of some leading mobile phone and accessory manufacturing companies in the world.  Open Handset Alliance  provides services such as producing mobile phones that suit the purposes of Android Operating system and developing Android Operating System to  be operatable with latest devices.
      After all these, on 20th of September 2008 , Google published set of codings of the Android OS, by doing so Google gave assistance to invent many applications suitable to be executed with androids.

  To share these Apps, Google company have introduced a special place called Android Market 
in August 2008. Anyone can make Apps and join with Google and can add those Apps to here.They can give them free or can sell to the the Google company.Most of the Apps that Google has brought is available to buy in Android market and many free ones too. Anyway all the Apps are added to the Market via Google company.
   At first there were only few Apps, but in March 2009 there were 2300, In October 2011 there were 319 000 and at the end of 2011 there were over 10 billions of Apps.
  The 1st version of Android was introduced in 23rd September 2008. It was installed first in HTC -dream- GI smart phone. After that 6 versions were introduced and they are named from the names of deserts in alphabetical order.

    Ice Cream sandwich is Android 4.0 edition, latest version of it is Android 4.0.2 which was introduced in 28th of November 2011.
   In the present 17% of tablets and 43% of smartphones are Android , so whole world know about it. The reason behind this is it has good performance as well as manufacturers can use it for free. So Google company earn money to develop Android by selling Apps. From the Apps in the Android market 67% are for free and others are just like 3$ .Six years before Google company brought Android company for 50 million , but now a days it earns billions of dollars
